The Great Pyramid of Giza

The field of archaeology has uncovered some truly remarkable things. Some of them are buried in the earth, others are buried in dense jungle, and some finds are just sitting out in the open, waiting to be discovered. The finds on this list are some of the most remarkable and bizarre things ever uncovered by archaeologists. The Great Pyramid of Giza isn’t really an “archaeological discovery” since it was never lost, but it’s still a wonder of the world. One of The Seven, in fact. The Great Pyramid is still an article of some controversy. Some people still insist that it would have been impossible for it to have been constructed by human labor, due to the size of the stones and precision of construction. Lots of people credit aliens with building the pyramids. Incredible, until you realize that no they didn’t.

The Terracotta Army

An army of lifesize terracotta soldiers was discovered in 1974. Some farmers in the Lintong District of China were the first to come across the terracotta army. There are a total of about eight thousand soldiers. They’ve been dated to around 210 BC.The soldiers stand over the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Huang believed they would guard him in the afterlife.
