Winter ain't over 'till it's over...and it's not looking good

The legendary “Blizzard of 1888” gave New York City four feet of snow with gusts of hurricane force hurtling between the tall building and heaping drifts to second-story windows. Such a storm would shut down the New York City even with modern plows. But it occurred between March 11 and March 14. What was the situation in New York City on March 10?

yup..it snowed on the GULF! In brownsville..that's further south than key west. People who have lived their whole lives on the gulf and never seen snow..did so this year. Not just a little bit either.

The stories about the "Schoolhouse Blizzard" of 1888 are always a good read. Quite amazing how anyone survived those winds, snow & temps with no real heat/shelter to speak of by today's standards.
