    Youtube has been going downhill fast for the last couple of years. Hopefully 2018 will be the year they finally kill themselves off and a viable replacement emerges. DTube would be great if they could get it to run faster/more smoothly.

      Neither.
      I sat down and found a few nice alternative video upload websites.
      Here they are:

      DTube - steem based
Dailymotion  - payable at 100 $
Viuly - ETH I believe
Estreem - Paypal 
Streamable ( its code pasted on blog with adverts does the same)

      All of that can be pasted anywhere, plus my videos don't make that much to cause me any worry.

      YouTube has been shady for a while now. Right now gun channels are being hit very hard but its not just them. YouTube has been burying and demonetizing anything that doesn't fit their vision. This means there isn't room for right-wing channels, left-wing channels that don't support the democratic establishment and the social justice movement, weed channels, alternative media, everything that is "edgy", nipples, or anything that is even mildly entertaining.

        Agreed, I have been doing just that and I went ahead and wrote a little essay on my page that asks others to suggest Steemit to affected Youtubers and attempts promote unity between disconnected groups (like Gun-Tubers and Weed-Tubers, for example) that are both affected by YouTube's censorship. My voice doesn't carry much weight around here but I do try to do my part on these issues.

        Well they did hire thousands of new censors to try to suppress people mocking their child puppets.
        Of course the NYT was disappointed they did not go far enough.

        kinda funny isn't it?
        they spend billions of dollars trying to 'get the word out' (I'm referring to advertising)
        and then they spend more money (millions?) trying to keep the word from GETTING out.

        seems a bit odd to me.

          It makes sense, their job is to advertise drugs, so it makes sense that they would attack those who do not pay them to advertise their products.

          YouTube can do whatever they want, it is their site....HOWEVER it does not mean that we have to use them for ANYTHING!
