A question to Philippine Steemians

Well, mostly to people living in Manila.

According to Wikipedia, aside of China, three of the biggest malls of the world are within Metro Manila, Philippines.

As a foreigner, I'd like to ask some about it.

  • Why the Philippines? Not exactly intuitive for such a "western thing" made so extensively in an island-country on the East. Are your country such a huge market?

  • How do you feel about it? Are those waste of money, or rather good for you to have there? Such a pinnacle of consumerism may not be the best way of "enhancing" life in a crowded city, but can also bring some infrastructural improvement to some places.

  • Do you like them? Are these places any more interesting than a random mall? Or are the stuff you can buy overpriced?

I'm honestly interested and apparently, Steemit is just exactly the right place to ask about it.

Thanks for answering!
