Why Dont People Care About Each Other?

This question i ask everyone. What is it about us that makes us not care about one another? I mean it happens in the animal kingdom where one will kill another for dominance but we are not savage animals. We are able to care for those dearest to us yet wont do the same for a stranger, even pack animals will help each other to survive and we are pack animals are we not? Life is so precious yet we destroy it, among those lives could have been the next Einstein or the person that cures cancer and saves millions. We will never know, they were not given a chance. So i sit here thinking what needs to be done in order to get people to care for one another, not feed off seeing others struggle and stuffer. We are capable of changing lives but we always ask ourselves "what's in it for me?". Why is a reward needed to change a life and bring happiness to another. I am not implying that everyone has this mindset there are many good people out there that are able to care for those that have no relation to them, love them unconditionally, but they have figured it out we are all family on this mother earth we are all related no matter how distant we are all family.

I think the way we a raised is an obvious factor. Some people are genuinely heroes giving up their lives to save many so much examples out there but why must such brave individuals even though they have saved many life be lost in that instant? I know i am asking a rhetorical question but really WHY? Its such a huge loss and our media gives more coverage to those that want to take life than those that want to preserve it. I will never understand the media i guess its just another business and BAD NEWS SELLS why? Cause people are more interested by it i guess....

Maybe in time to come those that grow up without hate will eventually create a world that is safe for all without suffering and hate. Religion? We are literally fighting over the "HOW TO" guide in believing in the same GOD, does that make any sense at all? Islam, Christianity, Judaism... We all believe in a single entity and we don't realize that.
If you say your GOD is greater than mine then why is mine still around is your GOD not great enough to be the only one are GODS sharing the earth? Religion is a good set of written values that is not a bad thing to live by, someone once said to me "it doesn't matter what book you follow, just try to follow one" That is some good advice. I don't mean to preach and make this about religion i believe that the Big Bang Theory is possible and that evolution is a fact but i also believe that that is how GOD made it all. Everything cannot come from nothing and if there is no life after death what is the reason for living? We can question GODS existence yes and we my reject it but when it comes down to what it teaches its undeniably GOOD ADVICE.

Why is our world so ill and what do you think is the root of the problems? This is very opinionated but id love to hear what others have to say and maybe we can find a way to get that global peace we all so long for.
