This is from the actual episode, I guess... 1) Matt's a pretty bad Catholic; 2) The reason women (in rom coms) walk home without shoes on is because they wear high heels and their feet hurt... regular shoes / boots don't have that problem.
This just seems like a continuation of the MCU's trend of trying to make literally everything into a joke, which is wildly at odds with the tone of the Netflix series... and that just makes me more convinced that the new series with Daredevil is going to suck.
I canceled Disney+, though, so I don't really plan to watch it.
Also, I find the idea of Daredevil -- a superhero who basically does all his work at night, striking from the shadows and dark corners because they're meaningless to him given his power-set -- walking around in full costume in broad daylight without an exceptionally good reason to be extremely stupid.
I have no idea if I'm being overly harsh, since I'm not watching the show - as I decided it was garbage based on the first couple episodes, and I'm tired of feeling compelled to subject myself to horrible writing and production just because it's a big brand or a comic book property.
Daredevil doesn't have to be gritty all the time, but the Netflix series established a tone and a characterization that was unapologetically great - particularly in the first couple seasons.
Disney seems to be actively ignoring that, while benefitting from the fan base the show built.
