A few years ago when Netflix was basically the only player in the streaming game I feel as though things were a lot simpler. As more and more streaming platforms pop up it seems as though we are heading back to where we began and was the entire reason why people started subscribing to Netflix in the first place. Cable or satellite programs because unreasonably expensive because there were so many packages and options. Then of course torrents totally changed the game.
Netflix found the perfect medium for most people and even though torrents are still just as available as they have always been - perhaps more so - a lot of people decided to shell out the $10 a month or whatever for Netflix for simplicity's sake. I know that I did even though I am extremely aware of how to get everything I want for free.
When Disney joined the streaming wars I was at first a bit excited because they are an absolutely huge company with the ability to make a ton of great shows with all the licenses and rights that they have. I don't know exactly what went wrong there, but I don't think I am alone in saying that I have been very unimpressed with most of the stuff that they released.

Just look at all the things that Disney owns and consider that this is just the tip of the iceberg. They own considerably more than that.
With Marvel and Star Wars one would think that there is no way that they could possibly screw this up but I'll be damned, they managed to do exactly that.
With a few exceptions, the Star Wars shows and movies that Disney has been in charge of have been an absolute disaster, especially for people that have been fans since the 70's.
Just focusing on series that were exclusive to Disney+ I think most people would agree to a large degree that Mandalorian was passable but Obi Wan Kenobi was an absolute joke. Personally, I felt as though Disney totally crapped all over the legacy of the character Obi Wan Kenobi and the horrible response they got from fans is completely deserved.
While I am quite certain that there is a bunch of manipulation of the scores here, getting rating of below 70% for a beloved Star Wars character is a massive failure.
Then we can look at the Marvel stuff. While I am not a big fan of superhero films or series, Disney really crapped the bed in this aspect. Due to the overwhelming desire to be PC and progressive it appears as though they weren't really all that concerned with sticking to the actual lore and comics and a lot of the time it appeared as though the writers weren't at all familiar with the characters that the shows were actually suppose to be about. I wasn't very excited about She Hulk at all, but as low as my expectations were they managed to make it much worse than that.

All the criticism that this show received and the overwhelmingly negative response to it was entirely deserved. This show is a diversity mess and the anti-white and anti-man theme is evident right from the start.
This isn't anything new but it is upsetting how there is almost always a massive disconnect between professional reviewers and regular Joe viewers like you and I. Try as they may to make it appear as though She Hulk wasn't a complete disaster, the writing is on the wall and it is a one and done series. There will be no season 2 and I'm pretty sure that literally nobody wants it.
This and other factors have lead to Disney losing money hand over fist and even though they have very deep pockets, I think we are going to see them stop with the "wokeness" and go back to what made all of these brands great to begin with. How a company with such a massive following and previously good management manages to screw this up so badly is pretty remarkable.
Disney continues to defend their PC / woke narratives in the press but behind the scenes they probably are very aware of the fact that they had better cut it out, or they are going to end up getting shut down by their own customers or rather, lack thereof.
Losing 1.5 billion dollars in just 3 months is obviously not sustainable, even if you are Disney.
I think we are going to see the woke crowd not just disappear from Disney but from everything else as well. The people are fed up with it and Netflix and Amazon have seen massive backlash from their customers and after a few years of this tomfoolery all of them are slowly phasing out the political, social, and racial "lessons" from their shows. Maybe focus on entertaining people instead?
On the whole star wars thing: The Mandalorian is a good series. And even Obi Wan is doable, but than came The book of Boba Fett.
The series in itself might not even be bad, it was just dramaticaly bad expectations managment. The story which they told could have been about anyone, no need to use the name of the character Boba Fett there. Most people probably expected a series about the rise of Boba Fett as a galactic crime lord, what we got was a sad old man, living out the existence of a minor feudal lord on, yet again, tattooine. The best episodes where those where Dinn Djarin (the mandalorian) is also present, and there Boba Fett feels like an extra in his own series...
Andor was good, very good even, but it comes on the heels of a few so-so experiences.
Disney has been pretty hit or miss with star wars though: the sequel trilogy. Attempting to launch movies so fast in succession that Solo failed (while being a good movie in itself), and than a bunch of series which prefer to stay right on the edge of what we know, with the necessary cameo's of known characters, rather than exploring this gigantic universe out there.
Again, Andor got it right, but let's hope that it'll keep going in that way.
We did get Rogue One, which is some of the best content even according to me.

I agree with you 100% on Rogue One. Why they didn't continue along that rather dark path is still a mystery to me. It was told in a very different way than any of the others and I consider it to be top 4 of all the movies, perhaps even one step ahead of Return of the Jedi.
