WOW this one sure is distinctive and stylish

Taking it indoors with available light I had a hard time getting the colour balance right, but I think this is pretty close to the original.

it looks pretty good t me but of course I didnt see the original

So wonderful.. like out of the movies ... where is this?

Per the post title, this is a door in the Hermitage Museum which is located in St. Petersburg, Russia, formerly known as Leningrad - and before that, as St. Petersburg! The museum is actually a complex of many buildings and halls, and I honestly can't remember which hall this was in. Following.

so gorgeous glad you posted this..

These doors are very intricate and very distinctive. They don't make doors like these anymore. The cost would be astronomical!

Like many things that aren't made anymore! Of course, if you have the money...

Another fellow Ontarian! Seems to be a few of us. My old stomping grounds was just outside of Thorndale. Don't blink while driving through, you might miss it!

We are down that way often, several friends in London, also near Bayfield, visited them about a month ago for an annual gathering of 6 old high-school buddies (and I do mean old, class of '66). Can't say we've driven through Thorndale though, either north or south of it depending on where we're headed.

Told you you would miss it! I had a friend who lived in Brighton once upon a time.

Here 15 years now, know some of the old townspeople but mostly retired folk like us. Nice area.

its a good art over the door.
