I am not even sure where I came across this door in the city, but I suspect it was on the side of one of the old churches in the city most likely in Lower Manhattan as that's where other shots were taken that morning, but I only got this door and not the building it was on for some weird reason , I have no idea why I did that ,

But to me this shot cried out to be done in Mono to bring our attention to all the cool detail of the stone work and the cool design of the door.

When you see doors like this do you ever wonder who has been through them?

I do all the time, I guess I have an active mind it always runs off at a tangent, but when I see a door I first enjoy the detail and workmanship, then I wonder how old it is, and who may have passed through it, could anyone famous have passed through this door

I know I will never know but it doesn't stop my mind racing away with these thoughts lOL

Looks like a door to an inner city asylum, spooky, like a horror story book cover. Or an abandoned haunted hospital.

I like that take
I should have done a more dark edit with this

The steps what makes it eerie looking 👻

Yes I really see that now 😎👍

I would imagine that this door is at least a few hundred years old. It has survived better than the steps leading to it which look like they have been a newer addition. It looks like it could be on an old church building. Love the old iro hinges on the doors.

The detail on the door right down it’s hinges

I would love to know how old it is

I love the details in it and the building surrounding it. I bet it's seen more people than we will in our lifetime.

Yes I do believe your right

Very beautiful

Thanks kindly

It is a really pretty door. I've always wished I had a reason to visit places with cool doors just to feel like I was in a story book where something neat was behind it. Never have had the chance though.

Me either I have seen Cool doors and make up stories in my head for them
Lol

Very cool looking door

Thanks I thought so as well

Hey @tattoodjay,
Nice post! Quick question...I posted to be adopted. No luck just yet...crossing fingers still. In the meantime could you please tell me what I should be focusing on to get my reputation to steadily increase? I appreciate you letting me reach out to you with questions. Just want to make sure I am doing everything possible to make this a lifestyle to grow in the right direction! Thanks! ~Malissa

The door looks antique. Probably 100yrs old.

Thanks kindly
I to think it’s that old for sure

top shot

Thanks kindly appreciated

I'm guessing it must be pre 1930's as the design is neo-classical.
Nice detail on the door panels Jay and the lamp looks like a face to me?

I am not that well versed on styles but that sounds about right

I thought it was only me who say the face 😎

beautiful photo.. lol i tagged krazypoet too but I dont think he ever tagged anyone after me!

Ohh I didn’t know that
Oops

Lol does that mean u win?? Lol

Nah I messaged him lol

Another good question would be, how many of those who walked in, walked out? :)

I had thought of that question but it could be a good one

Story inspiration?

I meant to say I hadn’t thought of that

Story writing is not my forte Yo be honest

Bet you don't like brussel sprouts either :P

No and point taken I do now

Hehe, you took that to another level I didn't even think about :) I used to hate them too, now I love them :) Weird...

Lol that’s a funny coincidence

Awesome looking door... be careful on those stairs!

Yes those stairs look a bit dangerous

Love that shot. The arch especially gives the doorway a special significance. Transition, a new path or opportunity for transition. As always, great eye brother!

And as always s your comments are so supportive and thoughtful

It is not difficult with your work brother. I just have to say what I think. Peace

@platosgroove, Mad? Mad as in "mentally ill" or mad as in "angry?"

Or mad as very or extremely. :) Hey brother. What are you referring to?

@platosgroove, That seems one of the defining characteristics of the human race.

Yes depending on who does the defining. Cultures definitions many times make us feel mad as though we are somehow broken or ill. When one begins to awaken to the illusion of culture many times we become mad and enraged. After a time one can become at home in their singular mad creativity which is not really extreem. Except inasmuch as it is measured against the world's mundane norms. :) Cool question.

@platosgroove, Windows, MacOS, Linux, UNIX... all of them are types of OSes.

Don't mind me :-) just testing out a bot and it seems to be broken

Thanks again 😎

What a fantastic shot
Love the steel blue coloration

Thanks
I tend to do blue and white more than black lol

I noticed. I learned that "trick" from you actually. So thank you :)

No thanks needed😎

Sweet 🚪

Cheers have a good week ahead
