The final week of summer has seen a drawbridge manifest at OG Foundation!
But first, this clean looking photo for the thumbnail...
Mounting shelves with mortar is a bit complicated.
This is after batch #2. Foam helped to hold them in place for the first batch.
Now, on to the drawbridge!
First, the tirewall was complete, including one cement pour- underneath the squished tire on the end of the top course.
Next a bridge was begun.
Once the bridge is completed, a base plate is placed upon the tirewall, and the bridge is screwed to it with hinges.
Next, the plate is mortared to the tirewall, and the landing on the Entry Hall side is insulated and mortared.
The inspector tested its perchability right away.
It passed initial inspection.

This window was also installed with hinges.
The stairs up to the window still need to be finished, but they were helpful for moving the mortar to finish the next task...
These stairs up top are almost done now as well.
And the chimney pipe got installed and fully insulated with aircrete!
Lots of finishes remain, and a bit more insulation...
But that'll be for another week!
