How to Repair a Stripped Screw Hole in Wood

in diy •  6 years ago

Ok, the addition at the end has terrible sound so I will summarize.

  1. Check the screws in the door as well as the jam.
  2. Other things that work great for filling stripped out wood holes are golf tees, dowel, toothpicks and chopsticks.
  3. A firm but pliable plastic can also be used.
  4. If you are handy you can even cut or chop down a piece of wood from a board.
  5. Of course this tip applies to most any stripped hole, not just door hinges.
