To be used for watering the greenhouse! This way I don’t need to constantly disconnect the hose from the irrigation system. Also rain water may be better for the plants than well water, I don’t know. This is only the first rendition and I plan to upgrade this in the future when I find a way to improve the funneling of water. A diverter is in-line to keep the large leaves and such out and a mesh net at the cap to keep even finer materials out.

This is on our to-do list. Planning on using the gutter run off from the barn. Although with a year as wet as this, it has been easy to put off for the time being.

Ahhh but all the missed opportunity!!

You are right, it gives a sense of security.. i feel it somewhat an illusion.

Interesting concept How has it been working for you, catching much water?

Well I was only able to set it up today, but it has been rainy here all day. I already have changed the set up from how it is in this photo. I feel it will catch more rain the way it is set up now, with the white tube wrapping around the corner like a gutter to catch the roof rain.

Sounds interesting keep us posted on how it does and post a photo of the new set up when you can.

What is this nursery of friends?
