I've never heard of this board. I'm assuming its a type of tile backer. when i use cement board, the mastic itself is used as a seam sealer. is yours a tape of some sort?

    Yes it is much nicer to use than cement board. Very light and easy to cut, but also quite stiff. The core is hard foam and the facing is a waterproof nonwoven cloth. You tape the seams with a strip of the cloth bedded in mortar. It is a Schluter product.
