Pawn shop deals Remington 760 for 100 bucks (vintage restoration)

My favorite place to pick up used guns is the local pawn shops, often the guns they purchase have cracked stocks, missing parts, not functioning or rusty as hell. This Remington was in pretty good shape but had several small cracks in the buttstock and one large crack in the grip. The shop was asking 375 dollars for it and it had been sitting on the shelf over a year when I noticed it. Knowing that they probably gave the unfortunate person they bought it from less than 50 dollars for it, I chose to offer them 100 and they took it knowing that it could sit around another several years based on it's appearance.

I fixed the cracks and used a HVLP finish (Dura-Coat) to camo the stock and forend and after a quick disassembly and cleaning, everything functions perfect and it's ready for the range.

Well done on refurbishing it. You did a good deal as they asked way too much for it.

Yeah everything in pawn shops is way overpriced.

It's looking good now! What caliber is it?

Thanks it's a 30'06 springfield

Good job refinishing it!

Thanks
