With their latest EP “Everything Quiet”, the Swiss Band Dean Wake seem to have found their place: With four songs they deliver thoughtful songwriting, complex structures, catchy melodies and a broad range of sounds. Dean Wake dare to venture into the human abyss and sing about love, loneliness, desire and life from its strange and magic side. From the hymn-like “Everything Quiet” to the driving “The Mountaineer”, the heavy-as-lead ballad “Silent Chariot” and the dreamy “The Canary” they dare a musical balance act of incredible urgency.
Unlike their debut album, Dean Wake made the most of all possibilities at the studio. Guest musicians (violin, background singers, wind instruments and hammond organ) contributed parts to their new EP and with Luk Kipfer (The Souls) they found a producer who allowed the sound of the band to unfold and evolve. Mastering was done by Slade Templeton.
