The irony is that while I was reading this article about online privacy, I got a dozen of unwanted ads. So I definitely need more browser protection. And if some content providers can't live without showing me their ads... the web will be better without them

Try using the search engine duck duck go. They don’t track your data I heard. I still use Chrome out of habit but I use duck duck go more and more often. I do t think that they give unwanted ads.

Yes, that is true.
And using Adblock Plus (or any similar adblocker) is also a good idea.
Adblock Plus blocks advertisements. Even on Wired. And on YouTube.
If I watch a YouTube video without Adblock Plus, then it is usually full of advertisements. Sometimes before the video, multiple times during the video, and at the end of the video. It is so annoying, but Adblock Plus is blocking every advertisement. Some websites do not let Adblock users watch their content. I very rarely turn off the Adblock Plus on those websites. I usually avoid those websites.
