During its initial stages, 3d printing was used to print plastic objects with simple designs using plastic filaments (3dp inks). Then advances in the technology made it possible to use ceramic, glass, resins, metal powders, mortar, cement, concrete, ceramic, glass and composite wood materials as 3dp inks to print all kinds of objects with complex designs never imagined before.

Six years ago, it would have been impossible to imagine that the technology would print human organs some day in the future.

Besides this development, about 6 months ago it was reported that the Israeli scientists 3d printed a tiny live human heart made from human fatty tissue. You can read about it here: https://nocamels.com/2019/04/israeli-scientists-3d-print-a-tiny-live-heart-made-with-human-tissue/
