Rahaf story is not the first when women fled from a place of restricted freedom to a place of legitimate freedom.

I used the term "legitimate freedom" instead of just "freedom", as that may connote absolute freedom, which is impossible if people are to live in a society, respecting each others' rights. Notwithstanding that when freedom is restricted to the extent it takes away a person's dignity to live a normal life, then the human spirit, which only knows freedom, will revolt, sooner or later.

Women in many Islamic countries and even is some non-Islamic countries live under circumstances and conditions which restrict their freedom to such an extent that their potential is thwarted consequently denying the countries of the contributions women could make.

So sad yet true!

Thanks for the comment, @j1upineya. Do you know that you could earn dlike tokens if you had made this same comment in dlike.io platform, which is then also reflected in all other steem daps like steemit, busy.org, steempeak etc?

Hi, I just commented on her introductory post. Refer to my comment there, for the dApps you could try.

Brave move taken. It is sad how women have to fight for voicing their opinion. Hope she has a better future in Canada.

It is sad indeed. It is not restricted to voicing their opinion. In Saudi Arabia, women are treated almost like a pet tied to an invisible leash held by a male guardian. Rahaf just unleashed herself surreptitiously.

Hope she will have a great life in Canada!

I am sure she will, provided the jihadist don't disturb her for having become a murtad. In Saudi Arabia she would face death sentence for apostasy.
