My friends @islalifestyle in Bali, ( travel vlog ) But why aren’t they posting on Dtube?

My friend @islalifestyle is a fellow steemian. I encouraged him to join a few months back. Well as you can guess, he hasn’t been very active. And that’s ok, but why hasn’t he been active?

Well you see he is a vlogger, and the number 1 DApp he wants to use is @dtube. But why hasn’t he been using it you ask ?

Well let’s just say, dtube isn’t necessarily user friendly. I remember when I first tried it, I could not get the thumbnail right, errors galore , and I stopped trying. About 5 months later I tried again and got a video up. And I figured out the formula.

But most people aren’t looking to go through a formula to get an application working . They are used to things that work easily.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love @dtube , and I want to see the platform develop into something that lasts forever, talked about in history holograms by the voice of the hottest actress at the time via an AI, software. But if I love it, I must say the truth to help them improve.

We are not the only blockchain, out there, others are watching the greatness of steem. Time is of the essence. A decentralized video sharing platform is a crucial asset on a blockchain/ social media / crypto network. And to get it right is essential.

I really want to see @dtube where it should be. I know not what exact struggles they have as a team as I am not on that level with them. The developments currently unfolding looks promising.

Now here is something to think about . I know this is a decentralized platform. And because of that @dtube uses iPifs and your videos disappear after a couple weeks because there is max data storage set by the team. Now Imagine telling that to the masses? They don’t want to understand or hear that. We understand because we are blockchain heads.

Reading @theycallmedan blog post recently, it made me think that we need to talk about these things more so we can improve this community and it’s dApps before seeking the 1 billion users to flood through the gates.

Now the last thing I’m gonna say is big ups to @dlikes , at first I was wondering, “what the hell do we need a “share link/ like site for?” But then I checked it out and realized it was more than that. It’s meant to be an eagles eye view of the internet. I have come to like it.

What I don’t like is the English at the top of the site that explains what the DApp does. Someone remind me to go on the discord and holla at them or go check and do it before me. It’s been a long day.

Peace out!

I think DTube should work on the current issues. I used to be able to watch DTube videos but lately I can't. They simply won't play. 😕

Dlike is also interesting but if people abuse it, it might become a nightmare to deal with all the traffic.

I also use Actifit, but since my posts are extremely simple, I prefer to use a secondary account, so that I don't annoy you guys with that! 😂

Nice post, @dmilliz!

Yeah I can imagine people not thinking dlikes is “quality enough” but when I took a look for myself I realized it has s place. Really ? APPICS is good quality if you ask me. Needs s little tweaking but beautiful looking DApp for those single million dollar shots.

Indeed , open minded and think what the masses want, not what decentralized stands for alone. The masses don’t get it. They just want ease of use as you said. Blessings bro

This is a very interesting concept, but the blockchain isnt ready for dlike either. Not a lot of communitties support dlike because they are considered "low quality", so is appics.
but I look at such dapps and can picture them being some of the biggest game changers. Why? If you look back at around 4-5 months, even actifit was considered as abuse and "low quality", but it was a dApp that was very atractive and user-friendly.
What the chain needs is a more open minded approach, not to mention the solutions should be focused on making the chain more user-friendly which translates to more user onboarding
