Cardano (ADA), the 11th largest cryptocurrency by total market value, started to speed up the updates after being passed by Tezos (XTZ).
An important step was taken yesterday for Shelley's main network, which is normally planned to be implemented towards the end of 2019 but is delayed for various reasons. Cardano management launched the hard fork named OBFT as of yesterday, and Shelley is one step closer to the update.
With the update named OBFT, the network has passed from Ouroboros Classic to the Ouroboros BFT (byzantine fault tolerance) protocol. The changing consensus protocol will serve as a bridge between Shelley's main network, which will eventually be passed, and the update called Ouroboros Praos.

Cardano will take the last step with the Ouroboros Praos protocol hard fork before going to Shelley's main network and will be ready for the transition to Shelley. In a statement from the IOHK team behind Cardano, it was also noted that by the end of this year, the completely decentralized Shelley main network will be launched.
Cardano Investors are Angry on the Project!
ADA investors are still suffering from not passing to Shelley despite the promise of the project's leading name, Charles Hoskinson. With its Staking feature, Tezos has passed many cryptocurrencies and ADA, which is one of the top 10 names. This situation has angered ADA investors who have been waiting for an increase with the Shelley update for a long time.
Time will show whether Cardano can calm investors with this update.
