If you succeed in doing this ... I've not even found the courage to try to sew an apron myself.

I have little fear when it comes to sewing--I have been doing it for half a century. I have fun with it and love a challenge, within reason. The only thing I gave up on was a man's suit jacket--tailoring is an almost entirely different art!
I encourage you to try an apron. Most of us started by making aprons and hemming dish towels.

Thanks for the link @fiberfrau! I have such fond memories of Burda magazines with the patterns inside. They were all in German, but I managed just fine.

I know what you mean! As long as I have a few pictures or a sketch, I am OK sewing in any language. I have also knit from German and even crocheted some lace from a Japanese magazine (the pattern was all written in symbols, so I didn't need to know Japanese.) Glad you enjoyed the memory.
