The Washington Nationals back are against the wall. After taking two games in Houston, the team gave them back to Houston in Washington.
With the momentum in the Astros favor, they need a strong start from their ace. Unfortunately for the Nats, Max Scherzer is scratched from tonight's start. This is a serious setback to the Nationals chances.
Scherzer is one of the best pitchers in baseball meaning that he can be counted on to come up big. The problem is that he is useless when not on the mound.
The Nats offense is going to have to try and breakthrough against an Astros staff that foiled them the last two games.
