It is good to be Mookie.

Mookie Betts, outfielder for the Boston Red Sox agreed to a record one year $27 million deal.  This was the largest arbitration agreement surpassing the $26 million deal Nolan Arenado signed with the Rockies last year which led to him signing a $260 million extension.

Betts had a decent season for the Red Sox, below his MVP run of a couple seasons ago.  This Winter the talk is of trading Betts who will be a free agent after 2020.  The Red Sox are trying to get under the luxury tax limit.

Moving Betts salary would go a long way to fulfilling that end.
