Stephen Strasburg signed the richest pitching contract in MLB history the other day.  This will be topped when Gerritt Cole signs his new deal.

Reports are the New York Yankees made a formal offer to the free agent right hander, a deal that tops what Strasburg received.

Cole is one of the top pitchers in the game just missing the Cy Young Award in the AL, which went to his teammate.

The Yankees are in need of starting pitching and Cole gives them the ace they desperately desire.
