Urquhart Castle, lr at least the remains of it, lies at the Northern end of Loch Ness in Scotland on about 16miles from Inverness.
The remains date back to the 13th to 16th Century althougb archeological excavations show that there had been a fortress on the site from as early as the 5th century.
I bet those old Lairds never imagined that 700 years later, Scottish Heritage would be charging £9 a pop to get in and wander around!
One of the most visited castles i Scotland is now on the Steemit World map!
