A 22-year-old has been elected mayor of Alaminos City, Pangasinan, likely the youngest city boss in the Philippines today.

Arth Bryan Celeste, who ran under the Nacionalista Party, won the mayoral race with 22,498 votes.

He is poised to replace his father, incumbent Alaminos City Mayor Arthur Celeste, who ran for governor in the May 13 polls but lost to reelectionist Governor Amado Espino III.

Dear @guruvaj, it is very difficult in any country to get to a government position being so young. But arriving as his father's successor it is not surprising that he enjoyed advantages over the other candidates.

In Venezuela the people in power take advantage of their position and the state's resources to give advantage and promote the candidates of the same political tendency.

It will not be the case there?

Grace for sharing.

We do that can of problem as well, but I guess the political climate in the Philippines are more democratic compared to Venezuela at present

OK, it's good that you have institutions there that function according to the law and the constitution.
