The municipality of Calasiao thru the efforts of Mayor Joseph Arman C. Bauzon has successfully set a new world record for the largest rice cake mosaic. The image mosaic that Calasiao built was 209.37 square meters beating Japan’s existing 64 sqm. previous record.
Done in celebration of its annual Puto Festival in December 2017, the local government conducted the event to promote its white gold product – the rice cake mosaic locally known as ‘puto Calasiao.’
