Australian Netball defender Kate Shimmin, has made a surprising move that has left the world of sports surprised. Kate who was of The Adelaide Thunderbirds and represented in both the junior and senior levels has put pen to paper and signed to be in the New England squad.
The 27-year -old Shimmin who holds dual citizenship that qualified her to play for England is the second player to do this after fellow team mate, Chelsea Pitman crossed over to England in 2017.

My Thoughts.

This is good news for the England team who seem really ecstatic to have her over as the coach, Jess Thirlby didn't waste anytime to include her in the first team selection.
I think the fact that she has a dual citizenship is reason why the switch was easy and fast and also, she is a good defender and I am sure with her results, she will be a good addition to the England team.

Do you think Shimmin betrayed her home country by 'defecting' to England?
Is this sportsmanship and will she do as much or more than she has done for her home country?
