Ravichandran Ashwin talked about how he competed inside and outside the team. Despite being one of the top-order bowlers in Test cricket with around 350 wickets, Ashwin has found himself out of the team in recent times. He did not play the entirety of the West Indies tour and remained out of international cricket for a long time as he was not selected for limited overs cricket. Ashwin took five wickets in the South African innings on the third day of the first Test in Visakhapatnam. At the press conference after the game of the day, he admitted that there was a point when he stopped watching cricket altogether. "For starters, I have two children who don't sleep all that well at night," he joked.
