QCAD total supply accounts for about 150,000 CAD at the launch.

It's based on the Ethereum blockchain, QCAD implements popular token standard ERC-20 and is targeting the mass market. 

The coin is not the first stablecoin pegged to the Canadian dollar. To date, there are at least two other CAD-pegged stablecoins, including Coinsquare-backed eCAD and TrustToken’s TrueCAD.
