This is the kind of statement that shocks latinamericna politics. I sincerely hope this is true and comes to a decent end.
LA public officials find it impossible to make decisions based on principles. They follow orders, they benefit from the establishment and then when things collapse they say, "i wasn't that much in agreement with what thye were doing". BS.
Disgracefully, most of our people seem to have only short term memory.
I am not as naive as to believe that within the Republican party there are politicians fully committed to the health of the republic (whatever that might be), neither do i believe the whole Democratic party is honorable and well-intentioned, but overall the country has historically espoused certain universal principles that are being heavily compromised under Trump's misguidance.
I hope the division of powers works, along with people's pressure and the US can teach itself and the world one more lesson.

Sadly, the only leaders truly qualified to lead with integrity won't take the job. Too much B.S. to wade through and no real support from the general population. Leaving a void easily filled by those with personal agendas and some money for advertising(propaganda).

If Trump have "amorality", why stoped he Obama's discriminative laws in education, or immigrant's family separation?
And how is possible, the democrat, leftish press really loved him (him, the "man of amorality"), BEFORE he started in the elections as republican?
And if the democrat's have right, and they are the good guys in USA, why exist the #walkaway thing?
And why exist the censorship on twitter or youtube, AGAINST the non-leftish people?
