Jasmine Renee Campbell, 23, has been charged with hate malefactions after she allegedly tore a hijab off a Saudi Arabian exchange student's head and rubbed it against her exposed genitals.
'She [Campbell] was fighting and playing around, [saying] that she wanted to be a disrober, that she wanted to show the victim that she did not have to be a Muslim, that people don't have to be ebony or white, and the she wanted the victim to ken that religion doesn't define her,' the court documents state.
Campbell is inculpated of approaching her victim from behind on the evening of the assailment, afore pulling the hijab off the woman's head and choking her with it.
KGW reports that the victim - who is an exchange student attending Portland State University - is still reeling from the assailment, and is too trepidacious to wear her hijab in public.
