The NBA is long known as being a "player's league". They hold a lot of clout and the free agency period shows that.

ESPN is reporting that both the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronot Raptors felt played by Kahwi Leonard. He did not agree to terms until July 6th. That means both teams were awaiting a decision.

This year magnifies what took place with so many free agents agreeing to terms the 24 hours before FA started. Leonard was daggling the carrot in front of both teams while using it as leverage to negotiate with the Clippers.

Look for teams to move on in the future a lot quicker. Players that try to use this tactic will find themselves dealing with fewer teams as the others use up their salary cap space.

Nice article direct to the point, but for me I like what transpire here Kawhi's decision ended the superteams era

Agreed. Let these guys make an informed decision. This is 4 years in the prime of Kawhi's career here. He could theoretically be staring at an opportunity for an MJ-type career at the end of this contract. If he wins a ring with a 3rd franchise, I'm pretty sure that would be unprecedented for a top dog.

I don't think so @tapeworm16. From what I see, the main reason why Kawhi wanted to play in Los Angeles is because of his family. So I truly support his decision. He's been geniune with his words and actions - the reason why I love this man.
