The saga with Trent Williams just keeps getting more bizarre.
After placing the all pro tackle on the non-football injury list, the team opted not to pay his $5.1 million salary.
While this is all within the team's rights, other teams in a similar position paid at least a portion of the contract.
Williams held out for most of the first half of the season in a contract dispute. Upon his decision to return, he failed a physical when he couldn't put on his helmet. The player had surgery on his head for cancer during the offseason.
This fact means he cannot play and now the team refuses to pay him.
The divorce is all but assured after this season.
