I'm really happy to see that more people are beginning to realize how great Matrix Sequels actual were. Like many of the Stanley Kubrick movies and horror classics like Alien (1979),The Thing (1982) and Fight Club (1999) The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003) are slowly getting a bit of the recondition they deserve. This video is from a guy who saw the movie at the age of 13 and hated it and 15 years later came to appreciate it. I still think h didn't get certain parts right. But it was a very good effort and I'm like to see someone making a video like this even in 2018.
I went a lot deeper on certain matters in this article: https://steemit.com/philosophy/@vimukthi/randomness-doesn-t-exist-in-the-universe-only-choices-the-matrix-trilogy-ending-interpretation-that-practically-nobody-seem-to It's one of my best articles so take your time to read it and watch the videos.
Additionally I also found this video made in 2015 that also get many things wrong but still does a good job taking a more sensible look at masterpieces (with questionable CGI)
They did better CGI in Shrek.... so it could have been done, but...
There was a lot of information packed into 2 & 3.
And it was not straight forward.
In #1, you basically only peel off one layer and get a firm grasp on what it means to take the red pill.
In 2 & 3, it leaves you wondering what is real and why are certain things being done.
Even the question, who is "the one" is up for debate.

Well said. I always thought of the first movie as the introduction (like the first act of a larger movie) I also love the fact the the simple Us vs Them dichotomy is left (especially with the backstory provided in Animatrix where humans were the villains)
The resolution itself is perfect. According to The Architect, those who want to be out of Matrix will be made free. The sheep will still be part of The Matrix but the machines will let those with higher minds to be free and live on their own terms. Peace is established. War is over. Illusions continue. But freedom and enlightenment is never resisted and this peace will last as long as it can.
That's simple perfection IMO. You can't force enlightenment or freedom. Some idiots will hate you for the freedom you offer and will want nothing but to see your ruin. So let the machines have them.
BTW Have your read about Eric Hoffer. His works actually make Jordan Peterson look like a grade schooler:

Eric Hoffer is basically a forgotten gem of the 20th century.

Jordon Peterson and Stephan Molyneux are both grade school philosophers. I mean, Jordon Peterson is literally telling people to clean their room.
However, at this time, they have to be. They are populists philosophers.
Congress is literally playing, "i know what you are, but what am i?"
The trouble is we have been living in a world that is completely a lie.
Everything in our science books is wrong. Everything.
Even our english is a lie.
There are very few people who know logic and reason.
So, we have to start in grade school.

It's sad but true.
Not really. But when kids are taught that there are only 3 states of matter, When Big Bang Theory is only a fraction of Big Bounce Theory and with Quantum Mechanics being barely discussed and having Newton's theories are told in schools as if they were ultimate truths instead of rough approximations with practical utility and many other problems and the research side of things being a mess of its own, I understand what you are getting at.
It all has roots in "Chinthana" which I've talked about here:
https://steemit.com/philosophy/@vimukthi/chintana-the-socio-psychological-force-that-guide-the-fate-of-nations-cultures-and-all-sorts-of-groups-an-explanation-of-the
https://steemit.com/philosophy/@vimukthi/let-s-talk-memes-the-builder-of-destiny-and-civilizations-and-the-most-powerful-weapon-known-to-man
We can talk about complex and deep philosophies. But a simple memetic like "Your Liberty To Swing Your Fist Ends Just Where My Nose Begins" or "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" being popularized and engraved in the minds of people can have drastic effects.

I always liked the three matrix movies. The only thing I did not like was the end of the second part, since it does not close the plot, but leaves the viewer without an acceptable ending.
In fact, I remember that more than 10 years ago, I came to see an animation called animatrix, of which the only thing I remember is that I did not understand anything.

I like to see Matrix Trilogy as three acts of a single movie. The sequels were released pretty close to each other resembling a 2 part movie (somewhat common in Asia with movies like Red Cliff where the first movie merely stets up the final battle).
I loved Animatrix. It fleshed out the main trilogy so much and gave so much depth especially when i comes to how things got o where they were. Give it another watch after refreshing yourself with the live action movies.

Yes, I guess that's the way it is. On the other hand, I'll have to watch Animatrix again at some point.

I'll have to revisit, I don't remember liking the sequels but a decade or two later I am a totally different person.

Please do. The article I linked above could help too. The sequels are actually far better and far deeper than the first movie. They were more radical and unfamiliar as opposed to the almost "Hero's Journey " like original which does get the help from a tried and true time tested formula.
