When I say playground, I mean its like surfing the air. There is nothing like dropping in on a cliff that is making a wave of wind for you to fly.

The boys and myself headed out to blossom for another adventure in flying. The day was looking good on paper and the winds were perfect as far as direction goes. We jumped in the 4x4 and headed up the mountain.

If you want to talk about obsession, when we got to the launch, we were joined by a group of RC pilots as well as a couple local hangliding pilots. These guys set up a little camp with pop ups and even a misting system.

It was a hot day.

A few things change when its hot out. For the most part when its hot, its because the system that has moved through is a "High Pressure" system. When its high pressure the air moving up is faster and the air moving down is faster so you lose the buoyancy that you have when there is moisture in the air.

Over the main mountain range, there was a nice cloud street forming. If we would have went a few miles farther out, we would have enjoyed a massive cross country. I found out later that a group of guys flew from MT. Laguna all the way to Palm Springs.
