The purpose of the meet up was to enlighten ourselves on the concept of the Blockchain, the steemit Blockchain to be precise and its affiliation with the steemit social media platform. In attendance were existing users on steemit and non-steemit users, all of us being engineering students in the university of Uyo.

I started by introducing the agorise initiative which actually inspired this meet up(to know more about agorise, check their steemit page : steemit.com/@agorise) and I also introduced people present in the meet up which are john(@mbj), udemba(@udembahenry), ubong(@ubongj),

I made way for @ubongj to come and enlighten us on the steem Blockchain.

"He talked about the Blockchain which is the public ledger system that's records all transactions ever made and the data are distributed in a database. Each time a database I'd updated, all the updates are done in blocks then, blocks are produced regularly and joined together hence the name Blockchain"

He also proceeded saying that the steemit platform is hosted on the steemit Blockchain and also talked about the upvoting system, following system and also currencies on steemit as well emphasized on the basic elements of steemit and rounded up and gave room for questions. The first question was asked by Daniel, he asked who a witness was, the second question was asked by @mbj telling @ubongj to enlighten us on the main currencies of steemit and the last question was asked by @peterjacob , he needed to know why steemit doesn't have a notification, then @ubongj gave them quality answers to the reasonable questions asked and thanked everyone for coming for the meet up.

Nice video too, you guys are some of the first Crypto savvy people in Nigeria, so congratulations! If businesses start to use Cryptocurrencies in Nigeria, the economy there will probably get much much stronger, so don't forget to spread the word and share the wealth :)

Thanks @agorise. Long live agorise
