Let's Play 'Beatsaber': My new favorite lightsaber-swinging VR game.

Recently, I picked up Beatsaber, which is a new music rhythm game where your job is to slash musical blocks in half with dual lightsabers to the beat of music. I have to say, as simple as this concept is, boy is it fun.

Guitar Hero meets Fruit Ninja.

The game officially released, but the devs have plans to add lots of new music and content to the game over time. So far, they give you 10 official tracks to play, with levels for each difficulty (easy, medium, hard, and expert).

I have to say, moving from hard to expert was quite the jump. In this video, I'm playing '100 Dollar Bills' on Expert mode, and still have a ways to go before I've perfected it. You'll see me trip up plenty of times throughout the duration of the song.

The idea is to swipe the blocks in the direction of the arrow marked on the front of them. Your lightsaber has to match the color of the block and the indicated direction for the swipe to be successful. There are also red void walls which will mute your music if you yourself are consumed by them. This forces you to have to move your body out of the way of the walls, while watching for the block directions and colors.

Still working on my form 😆 But I have to say, this is definitely one of the better VR games I've tried so far!
