Feeling the Pressure

Prices of Steem are low and cryptos are on sale prices in general. If there ever was a time to buy the cryptocurrency, then it is now. Same goes for the Steem and SBD tokens.

We always bitch about how the cryptos rose so heavily in 2017 that we cannot find an entry point anymore. Well people, you just found one. Yesterday, the price of Ethereum dropped below its price exactly one year ago. This means that the people who bought Ethereum and have been holding it for one year were barely breaking even yesterday. Check this:

Same goes for Steem. The prices yesterday were lower than what they were in November 2017. Here, take a look:

There are those intelligent people who are buying steem like candies (frankly its cheaper than candies right now). Then there are those who are not buying because they do not have money to buy. The problem is not that I am not able to buy steem due to lack of money. The problem is that I am feeling this invisible pressure from the community to buy steem.

We as community have a nasty habit of goading people into doing something that we feel is right. Hell, I have been known to do the same. I also accept that maybe its all just in my head and I am merely projecting. I am sensing this pressure and I don’t like this feeling.

I know that a lot of the people out there just doing the right thing by encouraging others and I totally get it. So here is a screen shot of my bank account that shows my broke-ass condition.

1 dollar is equal to 3.8 zloty. It means that I have 92 dollars in my account. This what I have for my expenditure till 10th of September and I have not idea where I’ll get the rent from. The point is that what I am powering up (and what I am not powering down) is my investment here. In my last seven months here, I haven’t once powered down for withdrawn any money from Steem.

This post is a result of my insecurities, but it is also my way of showing solidarity to those who want to buy Steem tokens but cannot.

The great thing about STEEM is that we can also earn more at these levels so despite not being able to buy the asset, you can earn more of it by frequently posting and commentinf which i know you don’t have any issues with. The SP will start rolling in before you know it. Keep it up!

That's the plan my man!

Hodling steem actually makes sense at all levels. It is the only token that will earn you more tokens if you work with it :-)

My friend, I agree with you about the reinforced feedback that we receive from the community about buying steem. As it is something that all of us have in common, so all of us unconsciously "force" the others and ourselves to buy, in an effort to stop the fall and to start the raise in price.
So, at what price is steem a bargain? In the last weeks $1.20 was, then $1.10, then $1.00, then $.90, then $.80....
I have faith in steemit and, as I don't need this money to live, I am not in a hurry and I can wait...
I will continue posting my articles about coins and I will continue commenting on other's posts.
I will continue upvoting posts from my fanbase and comments on my posts.
Life continues normally.

I think the guys who are vested in this for the long term are the ones sweating the least. The idea being that sooner later this has to turn around because that is just how markets work.

Your strategy is solid and the best advice to others as well. Posting is the way to because at this moment so many people are running away that rewards pool is the least crowded that it has ever been. Thus rewards for the posts are low in terms of dollars but they are high in terms of steem.
