Hey everyone at @DLive!
I’ve been streaming since 2016 on Twitch and January 2018 on @Dlive. Recently I’ve seen lots of people trying to stream to the platform, but struggle on how to get viewers, likes, but most importantly, to interact with your audience and keep them entertained. There are some basics you need to consider:
Promote yourself
Firstly, if you have lots of people following you on social media, like facebook, twitter, twitch etc, make a notification post to your followers on when you are live, fortunately, Dlive has it’s own system that posts directly to your Steemit.
If you’re not popular on social media, try investing time on Steemit to get more followers to your page, interact with bigger streamers! When you have people watching you, make sure they at least follow you, it’s even better if they upvote you and resteem you, but it’s rare.
Who’s watching?
We all know the difference between someone who’s refreshing their page to get to the top of the Dlive page and who’s actually got people watching them. Personally, I don’t care being at the top, but do whatever you feel like.
So when you actually have people watching you, they’re watching for the content that you’re streaming. So if it’s a cooking, gaming or IRL, keep them entertained with it, don’t go around doing something that they’re not interested in.
Read your chat, check your upvotes and ask questions!!
I think this is the most important part of streaming, the interaction. If people took the time to upvote, comment and follow your stream, take your time to notice them, talk to them, recognize that in your stream.
The more you interact with the people in your stream, the more satisfying it will be to stream, for you and your audience, not to mention, that one person could be a future follower!
If you don’t have a second monitor, like me, open up your chat on your cellphone and always keep an eye on it!
Also, if you have viewers, ask them questions! It can be about anything, just don’t be absolutely quiet, ask them about their day, their favorite food, recent news, favorite movies, anything! I try to talk about personal things and new elements or things that I like in the content that I’m producing!
Be yourself
Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine, if you are weird, funny, mean or nice, Dlive, unlike Twitch, is much more open on what you can say on stream, so don’t be afraid to let out steam, do stupid stuff. The more you’re comfortable with the audience in front of you, the better!
