Hi @jerrybanfield ! I found Steem because I follow Dollar Vigilante on YouTube. I've been watching his videos for about two years. He talked about how great it was, and I was naturally skeptical at first. He posted about how much money he made, and I thought it was a Ponzi scheme at first. It wasn't until I actually created an account that I realized how real it is. First of, what a wonderful opportunity really Jerry, well mummy story on how I found steem was this, in 2016 may I was at a friend's place when he told me about a steem he said he had seen a site where you can blog and earn money, I told him that wasn't possible, we checked out STEEM online and there was little news about it, so we concluded it was just a facade in September 2017 a year later and, I went back to steemit and saw a that it was different, I had to cheek then asked people if they knew a crypto called STEEM, they said yes, that it was relatively new, so I knew that steemit wouldn't be a facade if the site was backed up steem and that was how the journey started after one year and 4 months that I should have started.

On the 24th of February, the steem Ibadan meetup held. I was just about a month plus into active steeming, so I needed to connect with like-minded steemians around me, this date was a step not into just finding Steem, but honing my Steem.

Last year exactly around this time, the ransom ware attacked hard and the hackers were @theshadowbrokers . I searched about them and found out that they made a post on steemit. I asked her whether she was blogging and she said yes that the system really rewards the members for their h ardwork.

I learned about Crypto Kitties and found (via Google) that @brittuf was doing regular Kitty giveaways. Great Jerry.. I found steem when I was trying to solve a problem which is make it easy for people to cash out their bitcoin via bank or mobile money. During my research phase, I noticed that most people in Ghana were not into bitcoin but Steem, this is because they did not need huge starting investment to start earning on steem. I actually found Steem through @cryptovestor. He posts his videos on Youtube and Steemit. At the end of every video he mentions Steemit and directs his traffic there if they want to interact. After a couple of videos I finally decided to check it out, not knowing what to expect. It happened to be PERFECT for me. I have been putting off starting any kind of blog for about a year. I learnt about Steemit from a friend, @theheralds last year December and he was able to guide me through my introduction posts although I made a lot of blunder on it. I learnt about steemit from a friend @deeclown, we were in the same institution of higher learning in Nigeria. He already introduced it to me but I thought the system lacked integrity at first not until I tried it out. I'm finally glad I did. I was on a platform before I joined steemit called the "bleeding pen", this platform helped me groom my potential to some certain point. So when I decided to join steemit, I see it as an opportunity to socialize the more, meet talents from over the world, show myself approved. Though I sometimes think of backing out but I believed that champions never back down. Even with load of work from school, I still find some time for my steemit blog because I know it worthwhile. I have recruited many new steemian starting from early January, this year. A lot of them stayed because i stayed and believe that it will work out. I made friends with @josediccus, @mistacute and countless others. Though it can be sometimes on steemit, because I have some that joined steemit because of they believe it will help solve their financial problem, so they work day and night for their posts to be recognized but it rarely did. I saw this clipping in newspaper about a Steem meetup that happened in a city close to mine. Was curious reading what they wrote about Steemit and went online and then as they say is history.

Well I went to this meeting with a guy who was to tell me about a coin for some MLM he was into. And he had a good knowledge about every coin. I had skipped so many careers in my life because nothing interested me after 2 -3 months so I was looking for something new once again.

That day was just like yesterday, I was happy I clicked the right link, how could I forget?
I was browsing on nairaland and I was scrolling the feeds. I branched the jobs/vacancies section with hopes of finding something I can do.
Then, I saw a topic among the section. It was titled "steemit". I've never heard of it then, and I was eager to click it. After scrolling what people said about it, I wasn't convinced enough, I doubted.
A guy " doyinisaac" made me understand how good the platform is and here I am today, a happy steemian.

I found steemit like 11 months ago when searching articles to learn about crypto, I read some of them in steemit but didn't open an account.
It was back in December when I asked a twitter user which website was he using, and he answered me steemit. Since I already knew the website I went there and created my account!

I met steemit through my neighbors @edurley y @maeugenia, I always heard them talking about the same thing, and that really did not generate any interest. They explained to me that there I could load any content and besides that I could get some remuneration. They insisted that I join steemit and I told them I did not have time and that I also did not know how to write very well to be able to see myself well as many users. They responded, that it did not matter, that little by little I would learn and that maybe there would develop some talent that could have hidden. I did not have any other alternative but to pay attention to them and in August of 2017 I applied to be a member of Steemit.

It may sound too good and cheesy to be true but I found Steemit through one of your videos, at a time where I was looking for a new way to start a business in line with my beliefs.
Youtube had suggested your videos for a while but I never took it seriously until I actually started looking at marketing as a possibility. Then I clicked on some videos talking about affiliate marketing and one of your clips popped up on the right hand side in the suggested videos section towards the end of that session, the one "503 $ a day posting on Steemit". I watched it and was floored ;) Signed up right away and you became my first mentor as to what Steemit is and how it works in my first month, and as I have stated in my intro post and multiple times since then: I will forever be thankful for you building that bridge for me dude <3 <3
Steemit seems like the perfect place for the long haul, something I have always been good at. Just never found the right outlet for all my media work until I joined this place. I have built an awesome tribe since then, met lots of people who care and who make me better in what I do. Steemit gave me the persistency and the will back to tackle my music with more ernesty and to let go of tracks that were weighing heavy on my heart.
Ever since I recommend your videos to newcomers and to friends who I tell about Steemit, because your material gives so many important steps away that it saves us all a lot of time explaining it all. You know how complicated it seems here in the beginning ;)

I first heard about steemit around December last year on our local platform here in Nigeria. The platform is www.nairaland.com where a user had created a thread on how to make money online. I was sceptical at first until I joined and saw people like @jerrybanfield topping the steemit platform making "cool" money. Though a little less than 4 months on steemit.com, but I must say it's worth every second. Not only has my writing skill improved tremendously, it has also kept me informed.

The first day i logged in, i was amazed at the many talents here. I came across steem late last year on one of the crypto trading site and fortunately for me I met a friend who told me about steemit from which I was able to relate steem with steemit..it's been a wonderful experience
