Relating a little bit about my son and his drum lesson today, and sharing my views on self-proclaimed "teachers," and why, oftentimes, because they do not understand human nature and fun, they end up actually driving their students away from wonderful things they were initially very interested in.

My son, who's name is the same BTW lol, played the drums too. He started a little older than yours but I put him in private lessons at a local music shop where it was one-on-one. It was affordable and he loved it. You might look into it as an option. At this young age it would be sad if he were to lose interest because of this teacher. Good luck to you & Isaiah.

Thank you so much for your comment. Funny about the “Isaiah” phenomenon :)
I’ll keep your advice in mind. Same to you and yours!

Your talk here comes with interesting timing for me today. One of the mothers at my daughter's gymnastics had been writing something up for the coaching team, which touches on some of these areas, after a particular coach has been taking out her frustrations on the athletes. It's something I've been assisting a little on to help cover some other grievances of athletes and parents. Thankfully the majority of the coaching team are shining examples of good coaching/teaching. Unfortunately, not every athlete gets to have them as their coach.
It's amazing how some teachers can take a subject that is loved by a child and get them resenting it if they approach it wrong.

Really sorry to hear that. Really encouraged, however, to hear that the parents in your community are speaking up and taking action. It really should’ve addressed. Thanks for commenting, and keep kicking ass!

I think they need some extra ordinary activities

Teachers here in the US are mostly trash and pretty much useless. All they do is follow the common core book, but other than that most of the teachers dont give a shit about the students and they have incredibly rude and annoying attitudes. Im not gonna say who, but in my old school there were a few teachers who were rumored to have smoked weed on school campus. Public school in the US is awesome man.
