I think it depends on our body. I see at my office some people have heavy breakfast in the morning then lite lunch they outperform the entire day.

Ofcourse, it is important to know your own body and how it best operates.

Experimenting with intermittent fasting has been best for me.

Do you know yourself what has been best for you?

I have been intermittent fasting for 3 months now. It has had an impact on my energy levels and all round productivity at work as I am alot more focused for longer periods. I initally lost 5kg and then it stabalised as I didn't alter my actual diet just the timing of meals. I fast for 16 hours a day and find it quite easy. Next step alter my actual diet and see how that goes

That's fantastic!

The benefits of intermittent fasting are great!

I too have been taking it for granted and perhaps not eating too healthily, working on that too!

Oh my, you hit it right on the nail. I've been experimenting with different eating habits for years, and always noticed that the less I ate the better I felt. But I never thought about it from the point of view of our ancestry, although I always bring our genetic coding to my discussions about other toppics, I never thought about this whole "when starving, need to get food, need more clarity and focus to get food", that's so brilliant! Most people call me nuts when I tell 'em that sometimes I don't eat for days at the time, they say, that's so wrong, you have to have three meals a day, so I ask them, why? Usually the answer it "well, everyone knows that" :) It's amazing the brainwashing power has on people. Another one is "well, I love food to much to give it up like that" All in all, overeating has been a pandemic for a while now, it's a sickness. People thing that if they don't go to the bathroom at least once a day there is something wrong with them, in other words, they think that if they're not producing refuse, there is something wrong. This last winter and through most of the spring, I ate about twice or three times a week, very small portions and sometimes went without going to the bathroom for a full week. The thing is, if you're not filling yourself with poisons and unprocessable crap (no pun intended :), and you only intake what you need to sustain your bodily functions and whatever physical activities you're doing, then there should be very little waste. This whole idea of eating like a pig and crapping like a pig is, in my opinion, fairly new concept.
Now, the first argument I hear from others when I talk about these things, is "Well, I can't function if I don't have a breakfast" or "I'm starving, I can't think". But all it is, is that they're stuck in a addiction cycle, body is used to it, so it won't let you do anything until it get's it's craving fulfilled. We all know you don't need coffee to function, but how many people can't start their day without it, it's a same thing with food, for the most part it's an addiction. By the way, I'm in construction field, I work physically every day, hard, sweating labour, and I still function fine with very little food intake, so there is no excuse :) Do I go of the rails sometimes, sure, I love food just as much as the next guy, so once in a while I do my cheat days, even cheat weeks sometimes, but it's no different then going on a drinking bender, I know it's bad for me and I still do it :D
©Of course, it's just my opinion and I could be wrong :)

Hey, this came out so well, I think I'm gonna write up my own post about this and copy most of it from this rant :)

WOW! Paul, thank you so much for the detailed comment, I would love to see more of these in the future!

Here is what I can add!

I think in our society we are so attached to food in the idea that we must eat food otherwise we can't function. Intermittent fasting, for me, has disproved that.

I am intrigued to finding more 'social discourses' or these 'common knowledge' that people have, as you touch on, 'we must eat 3 meals per day' and questioning them and finding out whether this is true or not. Where can these common know ledges extend to other areas of life and perhaps be hindering us? I've been on a fast for about 30 hours as of now and haven't been to the bathroom for about 24 hours, just giving my body an opportunity to rest and clean itself out!

It's very difficult for the first few weeks to get the hang of fasting and getting past that initial 'hunger', nowadays i'm never hungry untill around 2 o'clock earliest and have been to the gym. It's the same with the coffee, i think people are too dependent on it and it may be placebo rather than actually boosting focus ect. When fasting I get a noticeable amount of focus, without being dependent on cigarettes or coffee.

Exactly the same, I don't eat during the day however still endulge a lot in the evenings!

Yes, this was an amazing comment adding great value to the content!

I look forward to reading your post!
