put yourself on a change freeze for... 3 months. I used to change settings all the time, res, crosshair, sensitivity, anything I could when I felt "off" but in the end it's not worth it. Stick with 1 no matter how good or bad you're playing

don't base anything off pugging, just pug to try things that you don't normally do. the best way to get better at cs is to form some sort of team and work as a team, in the end this game is a team game. no matter how good someone is you can still kill them with a perfectly landed pop flash, or trading kills etc etc
