Back in the 1990s and 2000s I used to joke that denying evolution is like denying that the Earth is round... In the 2010s I (I discovered the Flat Earthers and) was able to look back at that previous statment I used to make and think... oh for fuck sake...

It is a complex and facinating mythology.

flat earth is a good meme

I looked at similar incidents, and often thought: "If the main reason you believe something is because you want it to be true, then it most likely isn't true"

have a great stream!! UPVOTED! peep my stream thx :D

real flat earth hours who up

Honestly though. This just shows how bad the school system is, and how much distrust in the things its meant to teach. Smh, glad you have a good head on your shoulders @o0pepper0o Killin’ it :3

A good exmaple of people seeing something, and thinking about it in a strange way is TJ Kirk's video "Mirror's and Morons", where he shows people arguing over "if" or "if not" a mirror shows a backward image... and some people argued with passion that a mirror doesn't show a reverse image. I am reminded of that when I see some of the things people view as evidance that the earth is flat. People getting an idea in their head, and just going with it... even if it contradicts basic everyday knowledge.

Oh man! Can’t wait to watch this. Ha ha ha. Enjoyed the alt-right video.

lol it was actually rather..illuminating...

Flat earth, sphere earth, don't care as long as I can access steem blockchain I am contended in life.

I've got the impression flat earth theory was based on creationism, and a few obscure lines in the bible, but I am not fully sure about it. I do know the greeks caculated the Earth was round back as far sometime around the 5th or 6th century BCE. Something about measuring shadows at different times of day, on different places on Earth... they were good at math and I am not...
