Continuing on with our lovely Easter weekend at Rotterdam, today @exyle and @bkdbkd took us to the famous tulips garden, the one and only “Keukenhof”.
Netherlands is best known for its tulips and "Keukenhof" is the showcase window for all typically Dutch flowers. It only opens for eight weeks in the year but it holds more than seven million flowers in bloom all at once. Here, you will see tulips in so many various colours. Eight hundreds different varieties to be exact!
The overall landscape of “Keukenhof” was quite stunning too, with flower gardens, lakes, fountains and traditional windmills. Though the most extraordinary view is definitely the tulips themselves! With both indoor and outdoor garden areas, we spent half a day walking through a flower wonderland, surrounded by a maze of red, yellows, purples, pink, orange. Basically an entire mix of colours in between. Taking in all those beautiful fresh and fragrant aromas, it was a truly wonderful day for enjoying spring to the fullest!
We also stopped off at a nice spot for a traditional Dutch snack, the Nieuwe Haring. This is literally raw immature herring which has been gutted, filleted and ready to be eaten raw with diced onions and pickles. It probably wasn’t the most appetising food on the table but it turned out to be very tasty and actually not too fishy at all! So if you haven’t try it, I would suggest you give it a go, lol.
The "Keukenhof" is one of the most beautiful spring parks I have ever seen. The sea of flowers there will guarantee to put you in a romantic and high-spirited mood. 每年春夏之交是荷兰最美的季节。我们的复活节周末刚好在这里，所以@exyle和@bkdbkd提议带我们去库肯霍夫观赏郁金香！
库肯霍夫这个国家公园是荷兰最出名的郁金香观赏地，每年只开放八周时间。据说每年的花季，这里有700多万的花球依次盛开，有多达800个品种的郁金香让大家大饱眼福哦，呵呵！
库肯霍夫的园林本身也十分漂亮，各种的花圃，湖泊还有交错的林荫道，让人赏心悦目！当然这里最引人注目的还是郁金香。公园里有户外和室内温室培育的花展场馆，我情不自禁地沉浸在一片花海的世界里，红色，黄色，紫色，粉红色还有各种的混合色，各个色彩的郁金香争奇斗艳，秀色天香！我切切实实地感受到了春天的来临！
在这里的小吃摊档，我还品尝了大名鼎鼎的荷兰小吃生鲱鱼。这是未经加工的生鱼片，配搭生洋葱和酸黄瓜吃。看起来不怎么样，但吃起来却香醇美味，完全没有腥味！难怪深受这里居民的喜爱，呵呵。没有试过的朋友，不要错过哦！

Thank you for those beautiful pictures and video. You know, I have never been at the Keukenhof. I think most Dutch will only go when having visitors from abroad like @exyle. I am glad you liked it so much and that you even liked the raw herring. I like it, but my husband really enjoys it very much, but because of his heart disease he cannot eat much salt and to his regret he may eat it only once and a while.

I had an amazing day visiting the Keukenhof and enjoying the stunning flower sea, lol! The raw herring was sooooo yummy, I did not expect that at all. :)

I can understand that you didn't expect raw herring to be yummy. I think it is a typical Dutch treat and it has a special taste. Even a lot of Dutch people don't like it at all.
I must say, my American neighbors here in France like it also very much.

Keukenhof is indeed absolutely gorgeous - been there last year and really enjoyed the visit. You have really managed to capture it with your pictures - go and show them what's cool about the Netherlands aside from the weed :D
