well, if you don't know about product hunt it could be a bit difficult to understand --- http://www.producthunt.com -- this is that site, check it out, it's been out years and it's very popular for discovery of new products, startups etc -- the issue is they don't incentivize you to discover where as the steem blockchain version does -- they have a great lean team behind it -- @tabris and @project7 and they have an account here @steemhunt.
you hunt/post things you have found (see the posting guidelines for more information when you hit the + button) and write a little post which then get's posted to your steem blog. it uses steemconnect for your auth to the service. i've used it for a few months now and i love it.
i make my posts at 4pm GMT everyday because that's when the server resets the daily listing of the products that were added that day.

Ok yes I didn’t know producthunt. So for a producthunter this is great because now they get rewarded.
From a regular Steemian’s Point of view nothing changes, though, right? It’s the same as posting an article on Steemit - people upvote it and you earn. Or is there another benefit I’m missing?

you nailed it. yep, another benefit is that steemhunt has made bots and they have delegation so that before the end of 24 hrs those posts get an upvote if you posted something to the day, it's really cool and it's a great way to share stuff you find -- it just posts a normal post to your blog, it's really simple, give it a try. read the posting guidelines first for things that are cool to post and give it a try! :)
