Compassion Never Runs Out Of Fashion!

@karensuestudios and I had a very special experience at Louca, a 100% plant-based, organic, zero waste restaurant. They're located in Quebec city. The food looked and was delicious, and the co-owner even agreed to appear on camera to give us a little presentation of his awesome business. He was really nice.

I've already shared a couple of the reasons why I eat plant food exclusively. I've only seen benefits from this diet so far. It's been one of the best life choices I've ever made. I don't feel like I've lost anything, on the contrary, I've definitely gained a lot.

I often hear from people that they would never be able to maintain a 100% plant-based diet because they couldn't live with such and such. I guess I can say that was my case somehow. I was vegetarian for 5 years prior to becoming 100% plant-based, even though I in my heart I knew I wanted to do better.

The Pleasures Of Life!

Suffering is the worst part of life. I'm always looking to avoid it, for myself and for others. It's the very essence of life, I'm a pleasure seeker.

"Most people share the moral intuition that the infliction of suffering and death on a sentient being require some sort of justification and pleasure isn't a good justification but that's the only justification we have for eating them, wearing them and using them in most context. That's the only justification we have." - Gary Francione

Youtube Version

Might Doesn't Make Right!

Let's put ourselves in the shoes of those animals. What if extra-terrestrial beings were to land and treat us like we treat animals, how would we feel? A large part of the population use to treat many humans as mere cattle, yet that didn't make it right and now today most people would agree it wasn't right.

Circle Of Life

The circle of life is sometimes used to try to justify the way we treat animals. Yet with this mentality, what couldn't be justify? Canibalism is part of the so called circle of life. Shark embryos cannibalize their littermates in the womb, with the largest embryo eating all but one of its siblings.[1]

Conclusion

As I've said, I've had overall positive experiences with this diet and I highly encourage people to research it on their own.

"It is always dangerous to ignore the suffering of any living being, of whatever species, even if we think it necessary to sacrifice an animal for the benefit of the majority. To deny the suffering involved, or to avoid thinking about it, is a convenient solution, but such an attitude opens the door to all kinds of excesses as we witness in wartime. It also destroys our own happiness. As I often say, sympathy and compassion always end up proving beneficial." - Dalai Lama

Greetings, great teamsteem

Really, having compassion for others is very important in our lives.

I have since been here since I bought my dog, besides problems that have arisen in my personal life, I started to help a lot of dogs that are in the street.

I do not know what it's like in your country, but here, unfortunately, we always see abandoned dogs on the street.

I live near a church that has a square in it, unfortunately there are abandoned dogs. There's one sleeping there for about a week. I can not adopt him because I live in a small apartment and I have no money for another puppy.

The good thing is that a lot of people who live nearby help.

Thank you and good day to both of you and to the readers of the page!

We need more restaurants like that! I watched earthlings and after that I just couldn't consume animal products any more, not just food, I'm also trying not to wear clothes that have animals products in them, I'm also trying to use as little plastic as possible. I'm so happy to see more Vegans on here so well done for making this video!

Thanks for the tip! :)

I am with mercy and I love meat and it is a blessing
This is human nature .. Wake up
Thanks for sharing

Very cool. I would turn vegetarian just for my own good, eating meat right now is one of the worst things you can do to your body. It's a process though

Why is it one of the worst things? I personally believe it's very important where the meat you eat comes from. I come from a small village where farmers treat their animals very well and I always enjoy eating that meat! (Processed) Meat from mass production, however, I really dislike!

@teamsteem Concerning Gary Francione's quote, I think the reason most people continue to inflict pain and suffering on "sentient beings" is because they have grow to see that as the only way to ensure their comforts (food, clothing, cosmetics etc). They simply can't do without these comforts

Man can live and be healthy without having to kill animals to feed. If he eats meat, he becomes guilty of killing the animals, only to please his own palate.

Great post, my wife and I have been eating more and more vegetarian and we feel better about ourselves and the way we're treating the world.

Cool! I'm glad to hear that!

Good effort on the post.
Appreciate to see top users serve as an example,
D.

I have been slowly shifting my diet more towards plants and I can honestly say I feel better. Not just physically but mentally as well. It's a great feeling knowing you're not participating in the cruel practices of animals. Thanks for sharing!

Nice one @teamsteem

The text was great; I agree with you👍👍👍

thats very cool @teamsteem
from now i am a vegetarian

Helpful post thanks for share

Thanks for always spreading the vegan love =) I wish we had a restaurant like that in Panama...I may just have to open my own =)

Awww don’t forget, the meal was YUMMY!! 😆

Well said plant eater!

This is a very wonderful post , I found it very interesting especially the leading cause of species extinction, birds like Doo-Doo no longer exist again because they were mostly hunted for by pirates because of their large quantity of meat.
Nice post !
Steem your way to power greatness and glory! JPEG_20180411_161731.jpg

@teemsteem is at it again, great post my friend...I I would say the worst things come free in life but once you know it can be avoided.
Eating plant food is actually good for the health and body but not everyone will accept that heheh especially in this part of the world but being a vegetarian is very good i must admit. But i'd still suggest it can be balanced maybe 50% and 50% of animal products.
Amazing video and nice shirt (hoody) . True that compassion never runs out of fashion.

Amazing one

I definitely think moderated meat consumption in general = healthier.

I also think that mass slaughter/industrial farming is disgusting and immoral.

I also notice that many vegans (not you), as an aside, are really difficult-to-like, preachy individuals (assholes! :)) Not you, as I said, and I really appreciate this post.

I was vegan for awhile, and veggie for about two years before that.

I think there are both some compelling arguments for humans functioning as omnivores and also for the sentience of plants.

http://goodnature.nathab.com/research-shows-plants-are-sentient-will-we-act-accordingly/

I know these types of sentience could be argued to be different, but so could the qualities of sentience possessed by a human and a pig, respectively.

I think it comes down to compassion, as you said, and doing as little harm as possible. I had to kill a giant hornet the other day at my house. I felt sorry for it, honestly. But I could not let it live in my house where it will put my family in danger. It seems that life involves unpleasant instances like this, and there is not much we can do about it, but respect all life forms as much as possible.

I definitely think plant consumption is still more compassionate to sentient life that more closely mirrors human sentience, but again, plants do have their own sentience. It ould be that an alien race of superior sentience would view our sentience as very "rudimentary"...like a plant.

Biologically, humans have an evolutionary drive for fats, salt, and sugars, if I am not mistaken. Not saying that makes mass slaughter okay, but it is just part of the biology of humans.

Lots to think about here.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment.

I also notice that many vegans (not you), as an aside, are really difficult-to-like, preachy individuals

I agree but I would clarify, they are clumsy about their preachiness rather than being annoying due to their preachiness.

We wouldn't say anti-slavery people are so annoying for being preachy about their convictions, some of them are so preachy that sometimes they'll even take arms to defend what they are preaching about. Being preachy when it is a good cause and done the right way is commendable.

As you highlighted maybe plants have sentience but none of us would feel as concern for the possible suffering of someone under anesthesia compare to someone who isn't.

I hear you, I just wonder how we know they don’t feel pain in their own way? They are highly intelligent in their own way, and even seem to “play,” etc. The TED talk linked to in the article I hyperlinked is pretty interesting. People used to claim fish couldn’t feel things, either. But I agree with you mostly, because...it just makes sense that they would not experience “suffering” in the same way animals do.

Regarding the preachiness, I don’t know man. Some are actually just assholes. I’ve heard more than one suggest that humans who eat meat should be put to death and this is a bit much for me.

I personally avoid even killing insects, but yes, I do eat meat. I am cutting down though, however, as I have worked on an industrial animal farm (doing construction) and saw the brutality and lack of respect for life firsthand. I am in agreeance 100% there. It was a horrible two months on that job.

It’s cool to know you are vegan. I think it is probably the right way to go, or maybe veggie with minimal things like fish and eggs included. I’ve always leaned that way more than an all out “meathead” type diet. It’s better all-around.

Anyhow, thanks for the response, and have a great day!

Lots of great points raised in this post @teamsteem, resteemed!

good content!!!
There have two part as like as Light and dark...these are "Happy" and "Sad"..
people want to take the one which is happy , Sadness also a part of life,,If you pass your early time with happiness,,you will get the same quantity of pain in your future life,,,와우 !!! 당신이 쓴, 이것으로 충분하다, 변호사의 패러디.

Wow... this was intensely researched. I will give second thought to my ecological footprint. Thanks @teemsteem

We should treat animals for than just food but something that makes this world a better place too. Imagine if there's no animal left. What a world would it be?

Really cool and I love how you are sharing about vegan eating and I toatally agree with you and I also am turning into eating less meat for now and eventually go vegan, so I love your posts about it, because they inspire me to go vegan.

Your post is very good!

Now look me in the eye and Follow Me @cryptopay-blogYour post is very good

Great post

Thanks for the post, very informative. I'm not a vegan, but it got me thinking...

Thank you! I was shocked - "vegan athletes"!%)

sehr gute Aktion

spreading the BEST messages ;) well written, good message -- i'm slowly changing a LOT of things in my life and i certainly know they are for the better. keep doing what you are doing guys. it's great! :)

Oh you found the whole earthlings documentary.. I had trouble in the past with that as it kept getting taken down. Thanks for sharing. It's the toughest video I've ever seen to watch, but it forced me to stop eating animals the next day.

I'm glad you are enjoying the vegan food there in CanadiaLand :)
I hit a few vegan restaurants too in London recently, highly recommended!

Posts like this inspires me to be a vegetarian but it's sooooo hard. Why does meat have to be so tasty.

it's not hard when you think of how animals are suffering every time you have a craving =)

Oh... that hit me.. thank you for the realization.

Cool! My family lives in Quebec City so I go pretty often. I'll make sure to stop by that restaurant next time around. Especially because I love walking down St.Jean street in the old city. I'm not a vegan but I'm beef intolerant so in a way I guess I contribute naturally to the vegan movement. Either way, thanks for sharing!
