Basically you are right, yes!
But in my opinion, the scale in which you are using the bots makes the difference.
Usually i promote my posts just with 0.5 to 0.8 SBD, from there users should decide, if it gets to hot. (These bot votes doesn't affect which post dmania chooses, as far as i know)
