Yes poverty kills .

And its so unnecessary....

Yeah very.....

Okay so this is a tricky question , I want to keep this as short as possible Poverty is a very serious issues that existed since a long time . I feel everyone has a role to play in eradicating it . It's not an over night thing , it'll takes years or maybe decades . Lack of proper education , unemployment , violation of basic human rights ,corruption are one of the main reasons . If we focus on eliminating the above I feel you one day you might end Poverty. Like i said earlier is not one man's job , we all have to come out collectively and help the needy and educate them about about various issues in life . Anyway Nice post with a strong message.

thank you very much for taking the time to view my post and respond in a helpful way it's always good too talk about it if nothing else. :)

I was a volunteer in Senegal, West Africa for over a year. Poverty is intense, difficult to manage, and has immense effects on the spirit of people. It can bring people together and it can also rip them apart. In working with Senegalese people, I learned so much about what they believe as a community and how they see the world. Without holding much of a grudge against wealthy people, most impoverished people I met just want to succeed in their own way, just like any other human being. It's a beautiful opportunity I've had to share that experience with others in our world.

First of all thank you for volunteering to help people in a seriously impoverished nation, great work! I respect that about people they might be poor but there happy alot of people don't care about making the most amount of money and stepping on everyone on there way up the corporate ladder and I have respect for them, cheers.

Agreed, it's sickening, even in Britan we have people dying because they can't afford to heat and eat.
A woman died not long ago, she froze to death in her own home she was leaving the heating off until her kids finished school, after having her benefits sanctioned.
I can't even imagen the struggles of people in other contries.

yes it is soo needless I see the same thing where i live theres thousands of homeless dying on the streets most of us can barely pay our rent on time and on the other end people have there mercedez and its all smiles... doesn't seem right at all you either have way more than you need or not nearly enough to survive, truly sad.

No. They did not. Confiscating the entire wealth of the top X percent (you choose X) of the people would not end poverty. "Poverty of outcome" cannot be ended because there will always be fools. But we might be able to end "poverty of opportunity".

who said anything about confiscating wealth...

"The world's billionaires made enough money last year to end world poverty seven times over."

Sounds like you have confiscation in mind. What else could you be thinking?

Well the world shouldn't even have to is what I meant by posting this they should want to help out there fellow man out of the goodness of there heart like everyone else does and if they all came together they could make a difference voluntarily...

We need to stop focusing on what rich people should do and start focusing on what WE should do. Leave the rich people alone. Respect their right to do whatever they want to do with their property. They have a role to play in working for change. But everyday people have all of the power that we need. We can do it without their help. We can do it even if some of them actively oppose change.

Poverty has spread ..the rich get richer and the poor get poorer! @mmckersie Sad but true.

Very sad to see indeed, there are some very greedy people out there...
